Yoga Therapy Training Course

2 year Yoga Therapy Training Course (online & in person)

A 600hr Yoga Therapy Qualification to train yoga teachers for the rewarding work of yoga therapists, guiding people towards better health in a holistic and personalised way. This course offers yoga teachers thorough training in the knowledge of yoga therapy tools, their appropriate application to individuals, the interrelationship of this ancient knowledge with modern scientific approaches to health and wellbeing as well as the interpersonal skills required as a yoga therapist. It builds on existing yoga teacher knowledge, weaving in the complex understanding and skilful application of yoga and modern science in a therapeutic context. Emphasis is on practical training, developing and honing the skills relevant to working effectively and compassionately with people seeking to address their particular health issues with the guidance of a skilled professional.

The course is accredited by the British Council for Yoga Therapy and provides the skills and the qualification for working with individuals or with small therapeutic groups. The course includes six individual yoga therapy sessions for each participant, thus rooting the skills and knowledge to guide clients through the process of yoga therapy in personal experience and understanding. The structure of the course offers space for personal development, the practical application of the philosophy of yoga to oneself and the therapeutic process of others. Emphasis is also placed on building a supportive group learning environment that reflects yoga values and is intended to form the foundation of a support network beyond the timeframe of the training course.
