Friday–Sunday, 6–8 May, 2011
It has become a commonplace to talk of the speed at which we all live in the West now, and the resulting stress which can be a corollary. The constant cry of many of us is that we haven’t enough time. But how often do we truly consider how many destructive side-effects might come from our lifestyles, and how we could do things differently?
Yoga has many lessons to offer. On the simplest level, if we have a regular yoga practice, inevitably it slows us down (if only temporarily) and reminds us of a different way of being. If we keep practising, this gradually feeds into the rest of our lives.
During the course of this weekend, we’ll consider what could be the undesirable effects of the way we live and, with the aid of the Yoga Sutras, how Yoga can help us.
Plenty of practical work and practice and time too for relaxing and enjoying the lovely grounds of Aylesford Priory.- Special Interests
I am particularly interested in how to make a yoga practice available to everyone, no matter what their needs. I like seeing people respond as they learn more and, where possible, I enjoy trying to interpret some of the more complex concepts in yoga into everyday language.
