I have taught yoga since 1981 for Adult Education and privately. My experience has covered teaching all levels, classes for the over 60s, learners with physical disabilities and adults with learning difficulties. I also enjoy teaching on a one-to one basis and have experience working with students who have health problems.- About me
I started practising Yoga in 1976 knowing nothing at all about it but on enrolling at Poole College for a German class was encouraged to join something else free of charge. Out of curiosity I signed up for yoga. The German lessons lasted 3/4 weeks but Yoga is still going strong over 30 years on.
In 1981 I completed the BWY Teaching Diploma but it left me wanting to know much more and eventually I completed Paul Harvey's 4-year Practitioner course at the end of 2006. I was and am particularly interested in the therapeutic application of yoga.
I am currently teaching for Lancashire Adult Learning, mainly working with students who have a variety of physical disabilities, including students referred to the Healthy Lifestyles programme run in conjunction with the Primary Health Care Trust in Accrington. In addition I have 4 private classes.- Details of classes
