BWY Provisional DCT - currently training as a Diploma Course Tutor- About me
My interest in Yoga was sparked before the age of ten, when I found a book at my Grandmothers house. I have been intrigued ever since. I spent many years reading about Yoga and its philosophy, and practising out of books (largely incorrectly) but did not attend my first class until I was 31.
My first teacher was Christine Knight, an experienced BWY teacher in Kent, who nurtured my interest and encouraged me to teach. While completing the BWY teaching diploma I encountered Viniyoga Britain (now aYs) and quickly realised that I had found my home. My first 1-2-1 teacher was Hilary Norman to whom I owe an enormous debt of gratitude - If you live in Norfolk go and see her. Since then I have been fortunate to have had a number of superb personal teachers including Hilary Macrea, Sarah Ryan, Sylviane Gianina, and latterly Mike Young. After finishing my BWY Diploma I began training with Paul Harvey on his Four Year Practitioner Programme which I completed in 2006. I continue my studies with Paul Harvey as I now find myself a student on his current Post Graduate Programme.
The main emphasis of my teaching is the ability to be in the present moment. We spend the greater part of our lives time travelling, my practice and teaching is about what it means to be a little more present - a little more often.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
