About me

I have been studying and practising yoga since 1981.In 1987 I started to work with Paul Harvey and attended group classes with Pamela Tyson in London. In 1989 I began the four year training course with Paul Harvey and graduated in 1992.

I started teaching Yoga in 1988 and have taught a range of different levels from beginners to advanced students.I also have experience in teaching yoga to children, adults with learning difficulies and the elderly.

Much of my teaching over the past fifteen years has been focused on one to one work usually involving therapeutic work and practices aimed at promoting constitutional health and well-being.

In 1998 I undertook further training and became a post-graduate in the AYS in December 1999. Since then I have been running workshops in yoga, usually on a seasonal basis.
I aso started working with Gill Lloyd in 1999 and have had regular contact and excellent help and advice from her since then.

I am currently teaching a small group class on Monday evenings on a termly basis (usually 11 or 12 classes per term) at the Streatham Friends Meeting House, off Brixton Hill.Thursdays(daytime)and Fridays are kept free for one to one lessons at my home in Peckham.

The workshop I am running in October will be on 'antaraya' obstacles in yoga and possible helpful ways to address these.

In the early nineties I became the Sangha Organiser for the London Vedic and Yoga Sutra Chanting Group which meets on a monthly basis and is co-run with Margaret McGlashan. The Sangha meets either in Peckham, at my home, or in Wimbledon at Margaret's

I am now also a member of KHYF and I am looking forward to continuing the approach to teaching inspired by Krishnamacharya and his son Desikachar in conjunction with the inspiration of so many excellent AYS teachers over the years.

- All aspects of one to one and group class teaching from therapy to stronger asana, pranayama practices.

- Meditation, I have started to incorpoate a lot more meditative aspects into my practice over the past three years, partly inspired by workshops run by Sylviane Gianina in North London
