Foundation Workshop Study Course
with Hanne Gillespie
Dates: 18/19 October, 6/7 December 2008; 21/22 February, 25/26 April, 13/14 June 2009.
Cost: €800
This course over five weekends over 8 months is intended for those students who, having completed an Introductory Workshop Course, wish to explore further the teachings which inspire and guide this approach to Yoga.
Aims: This workshop further develops the topics covered in the Introductory Workshop
The framework consists of:
Guidance in emphasising a personal practice to support our everyday life.
An overview of the teachings around body and mind.
An appreciation of the principles which guide and shape Yoga practice.
Familiarisation with basic Yoga terms and practice techniques.
Teacher:Hanne Gillespie is the principle teacher on these study workshops but occasionally she is supported by teachers from the aYs in the U.K.
Prerequisites: Students should have successfully completed the Introductory Workshop Study Course.
Duration: Five weekends over an eight month period, comprising 85 hours
(65 hours contact time, plus a minimum of 25 hours guided homework). Hours 10am-5pm
Feedback: Support and advice will be offered on the students' progress and on possibilities for further development after the course.
Certification: The Foundation Course Certificate is awarded to students with at least ninety per cent workshop attendance.

Introductory Workshop
with Hanne Gillespie
Dates: 14th & 15th March, 2009

This two-day course is open to all. It is an opportunity for a student from any Yoga background or style to be introduced to this approach to Yoga. It is also a prerequisite to further work in the aYs Study and Training Programmes.
Aims: To present a view of Yoga through which students can support and develop their own practice and deepen their appreciation of the possibilities for Yoga in their lives.

An overview of important Yoga teachings around body and mind.
Familiarisation with basic Yoga terms and practice techniques.

Teacher: Hanne Gillespie is the principal teacher on these study workshops but occasionally she is supported by teachers from the aYs in the U.K.
Prerequisites: A minimum of one year's attendance at a group class of any Yoga approach, or 10 individual lessons with any Yoga teacher.
Duration: A total of 12 hours on two separate days, OR one full weekend.
Feedback: Support and advice will be offered on the students' progress and on the possibilities for further development after the course.
Certification: The aYs Introductory Study Course "Certificate of Completion" will be given to students who have completed the two days.

Learning the skills to refine your own practice.
Yoga Sutra
Exploring some key concepts in this important Yoga teaching.
Postures
Their sequence and the use of counter poses
Use of the breath in postures.
How we adapt our practice.

SEATED BREATHING PRACTICES:
Introducing and exploring basic techniques
