Teach us to sit still: a sceptic's search for health and healing

Book
Tim Parks

For those of us who have been steeped in yoga for many years this book is a revelation. Imagine somebody who had never tried breathing techniques or meditation and who in fact viewed them as New Age quackery. Tim Parks was crippled by constant and intense pain. Conventional medicine could offer neither a diagnosis nor a cure. After many years he came across a book which taught him breathing coupled with relaxation of the pelvic area. After limited success he discovered Vipassana meditation.

Windows Into the Infinite

Book
Barbara Powell

Powell provides a detailed summary of and commentary on the mainstream of Hindu scripture--the Vedas, the Upanishads, the Puranas, the Bhagavad Gita, and the Itithascas.

I found it to be very readable, informative and interesting.
